Moment helps you stay on top of fascinating stories from across the globe, providing you with sweeping in-depth, balanced stories that other Jewish magazines—the ones with political or religious agendas—are not free to publish.
Why can we do this? Moment is the only national general interest Jewish magazine not tethered to an institutional, political, or religious viewpoint. As an independent publication, we successfully reach out to Jews of all ages, affiliated and non-affiliated. No other publication of its kind comes close to Moment in quality of reporting and writing, breadth and ability to transcend partisan and denominational politics.
As a non-profit, Moment relies heavily on your contributions to support the kind of intensive research that you have come to expect. In-depth reporting and writing is extremely time and capital intensive. Powerful stories, rich with anecdotes, voice and history don't come to life overnight. They require months, even years, of painstaking research and reporting, followed by intensive editing and fact checking. Reporters sometimes need to travel to gain access to sources who can't easily be found or who are reluctant to speak out. Our subscription revenue and advertising revenue can't begin cover the costs that the magazine incurs on behalf of these stories.
