Opportunities at Moment
EDITORIAL INTERNSHIPS
Moment Magazine seeks editorial interns with strong writing skills and a serious interest in Jewish politics, culture and religion. The magazine, which was founded by Nobel laureate Elie Wiesel, has a readership of 100,000. Moment covers the diversity within the Jewish world. Recent issues have included profiles of Google co-founder Sergey Brin, former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, comedian Jon Stewart, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and House Minority Whip Eric Cantor. Everyone from former U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan to journalist Thomas Friedman has been interviewed for the magazine.
Interns are involved in many aspects of magazine production, from fact-checking and researching articles to pitching stories. Moment interns are regular contributors to Inthemoment, the magazine’s blog. Administrative duties are also part of the internship.
Editorial internships are offered in the spring (January through May), summer (June through August) and fall (September through December). Fall and spring interns work 16-24 hours/week (two or three full days) and may receive college credit (the internship is unpaid). Summer interns are expected to work 40 hours per week. All editorial internships are completed at our Washington, DC office. Moment does not provide housing or travel assistance.
Interested applicants should send a resume, cover letter and writing samples or clips. Please send all materials to editor@momentmag.com, attention Sarah Breger.
