South African Government Adopts BDS Measures

The African National Congress, the ruling party in South Africa and the party of anti-apartheid leader Nelson Mandela, has voted in its annual conference to support the Palestinian boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) campaign against Israel. The ANC says it is “unapologetic in its view that the Palestinians are the victims and the oppressed in the conflict with Israel,” and is calling on “all South Africans to support the programs and campaigns of the Palestinian civil society which seek to put pressure on Israel to engage with the Palestinian people to reach a just solution.”
